Richmond Crime Sweep is a unique
partnership of thirteen local, state, and
federal agencies working together to
fight violent crime.

Formed in 2005 under a different name,
Richmond Crime Sweep focuses on the
city’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods
and targets its most violent offenders.

Richmond Crime Sweep is one of the
reasons why violent crime in the city has
dropped 48% between 2004 and 2011.
But there is still work to do.

Richmond Crime Sweep has partnered with the VCU Brandcenter to produce a hard-hitting public awareness campaign designed to warn criminals and reassure city residents that violent crime in Richmond will not be tolerated. The message is clear: “You’ve Been Warned.”

It’s the next big step–Richmond Crime Sweep and city residents working together–to reduce even further the number of violent crimes in Richmond.
